Here is a picture you won’t see in a Redbook

If your familiar with IBM Redbooks you will be familiar with the group photograph that appears at the start of the book.   I was surprised to learn that there are quite a few rules on what can and cannot appear in the photo.   So here is a photo that will not be appearing in any of the XIV IBM Redbooks.

The back row is Roger Eriksson, Markus Oscheka,  Rainer Pansky,  Pete Wendler, Anthony Vandewerdt, Suad Musovich.
The front row is  Jim Sedgwick, Paul Rea, Jana Jamsek,  Bert Dufrasne (our very serious Residency Team Leader) and Andrew Greenfield.

The photo was taken outside IBM Mainz in Germany.

  1. I thought this was great. It is a shame that a company like IBM is so concerned about it’s image as this merely shows that it’s own people are just ordinary fun people like everyone else. In fact in the world of IT where the concept of nerd is never far away, it is good to see happy smiling faces.

Hey, tell Jim and Bert “hello!” for me. I worked with them on a Redbook a few years ago in Mainz. Good luck on the Redbook and enjoy your stay.
